Capital Park Library

Constructing a library fit for the 21st century within an iconic Victoria neighborhood development.

Pronounced s-hweng hw-ung tongue-oo-hw, the Lekungen translation for James Bay, is the very unique and latest library to open for GVPL. This project was a close collaboration with the library, interior designers, architects, developers and the City of Victoria. Though challenging, we began interior improvements while the base building was still under construction to maximize the tenant improvement period for the client. Key features of the completed building include acoustical cloud panels for sound control, high-quality interior finishes, architectural millwork and floor coverings, and an automated book return system.

Creative Team: CEI Architecture and Kyla Bidgood
