Crag X Indoor Climbing Gym
A bold investment in downtown Victoria, offering access to a world-class urban climbing centre.
Working closely with Chandler Associates Architecture, we were hired to construct this building designed with 50’ perimeter insulated precast concrete wall panels and an open interior space. Our crew had the challenging task of erecting and placing the 80,000-lb panels within inches of adjoining properties, with 5 days to get the job done. The expansive glass storefront maximizes natural light for climbers and the building’s specialized mechanical systems ensure a fresh air environment, which can be a challenge for chalk filled indoor gyms. The interior climbing walls were imported from a specialized Bulgarian company and installed on site.

Story Construction took an impossible project on a tight lot with an even tighter budget and made it happen. Finding Story Construction meant switching from “you can’t do that” to “how can we make this work?” Can’t recommend them enough.
